Google Car Home

[UncleMike]

I hate the car dock app that comes with the Bionic. I've tried others, including Custom Car Home, Car Dock v2, and Car Dock Home v3. I don't know why, but I still prefer Google's Car Home app. Unfortunately it doesn't appear in the Market on my Bionic, and when I look on the web I'm told that it's incompatible with all of my devices. So I took a recent copy from my Droid (Simply Stunning ROM) and tried to install from the SD card, and was greeted with a "Application not installed" message.

Has anyone had any luck downloading/installing this?

If you're rooted you could try to copy it to the /system/app partition. That's how I get several OLD apps (from Android 2.0) to work.

Care to mention which apps you got working from the older phone(s), and / or ROMs?

How about making a new post about it so I can stickify it? And PM me the link, of course...along with the methodology....
