Help Google Contacts Sync problem

Since yesterday I have been unable to sync my Google Contacts. I get a message saying "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." Anyone else have this problem or is it just me? All other Google products sync ok (Gmail, Books, Calendar).
 
I found a fix. Went to menu>settings>applications>manage applications>all>contacts storage>clear data which erases your contacts on the phone (make sure your contacts online at Google are there). Then re-sync and it works now.

Is there a way to "thank" yourself?
 
I tried that and it didn't work for me. It still says "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." It's very odd because I just got my replacement EVO today and it DID work at 5:16 pm. But it won't work when I manually sync. With my previous EVO, my sync stopped working October 16... And really, it's hasn't worked ever since. :confused:
