Help Google contacts syncing all the time?

For some reason my Google contacts are syncing all the time... every time i check when they synced last its always 3 minutes prior to my check time... It really seems like it is killing battery life, is there a way to set it to only sync once a day or something?

I dunno why its syncing every 3 minutes...but you can turn the auto sync off

Yeah I know but that kinda defeats the purpose... I just wish it only synced when something was actually changed...
