Help Google Docs Doesnt work.Cant I just download PDFs?

I try to download a PDF and Google Docs opens.But on my Epic it only displays the upper half of page .I cant navigate through it anyway .Seems like it freezes on first page.
I have Acrobat and it works great.But I have to go to Google and email myself the PDF in order to use Acrobat.
Is there an easier way to download PDFs ?

I think my wife uses ezpdf reader, but its a pay app.

I open PDF's on my phone with "Think Free Office"
