Help google docs vs docs to go

lilme08

Newbie
i have the inspire, coming from a blackberry, i am used to being able to edit my documents/spreadsheet and creating a new document/spreadsheet on my device. i notice that with the inspire, docs to go is only for viewing. Reading up on google docs, it appears that i will be able to create and edit documents on the device.

any reason why docs to go is crippled on android? how do you feel about docs to go? is there a comparison here or not?

thanks for any help!

The free version of docs to go is for viewing, it says the paid version unlocked the ability to edit the docs as well. So do you have the paid version and it's still not letting you edit?

I haven't really tried either of the ones you mentioned. I use quickoffice that came preloaded on the phone. But I think I might try google docs.

thanks for the reply.

on the blackberry, i did not have the paid version and was able to edit and create. i have not tried the paid version on android. i have tried office docs, but it only lets me view what is there. i am going to try google docs as well..

just do not understand why docs to go is crippled

Docs To Go isn't in the habit of giving away the paid (editing enabled) version. You got it on the BB because BB pays to license it (and rolls that cost into the handset). HTC doesn't. Why not? HTC figures the majority of their customers don't want/need the full version, so it won't hurt sales and helps keep price down and profit up.
