Google Drive question?

For some reason I cant access the documents on my google drive correctly on my HTC One M8.

I can access them fine on both my computers (work and home)

But when I try to open them on the M8 they will only open as read only through polaris office and when I try to open them with the google docs app it can see them but cant open them

Is there a setting I need to change on my drive or phone?

Thanks in advance for any help

Not sure if it's a phone issue or a Google drive quirk but no one replied when I posted in the M8 form so trying here.

Yup that's the app I've been using to try and access them, when I click a document it will open by default in Polaris and open be read only, I've tried the 'open with' option in the Google drive app to see if I could use the Google docs app, see if that made a difference but it didn't even give me an option of programs to select just went straight to Polaris again. When I access Google drive through the Google docs app all the docs are greyed out and it won't let me click them.

go into your app manager and locate polaris and erase the default. then try google drive and and set that as the default to open the file.

Tried that and there were not defaults set on either polaris, Google docs or Google drive.

Have managed to solve the issue of sorts,
when opening the word doc in Google drive on the PC it actually creates a Google docs copy of the document your Google drive and doesn't touch the word doc,
So I've created Google docs copies of all my documents and can now access them from phone or PC seamlessly as long as I only want to use Google docs program on both.
This is OK for my current documents but if I was using some of the advanced word functions I think I'd be in trouble as Google docs doesn't look nearly as advanced (although I haven't really used it much yet so that is only a first impression)

thanks for the help though
