The only way to get a new Google Edition phone is to purchase one from the Google Play store.

The GE S4 runs pure Android. Meaning there is no carrier bloatware (no TouchWiz, no Samsung apps etc)). The phone isn't carrier branded, so you can take the phone to any GSM carrier (like T-Mobile or AT&T. Sprint and Verizon are CDMA carriers, so you cannot use a GE phone with them). Also you get Android OTA updates before any of the carrier branded phones do.
