Google Keep widget

I've just installed Google Keep on my Samsung Galaxy 3 (Verizon) and am having a problem putting its widget on my lock screen, which is supposed to be possible and would make the app hugely more convenient. I have followed Google's instructions for doing this, but no luck; the lock screen (which does have icons for phone, mail, etc) just sits there.

Anybody have any advice or success with a Keep widget on the lock screen and can give me a tip? Thank you in advance.

You can do that on a stock Android phone with Jellybean, but not an S3 with a TouchWiz lockscreen AFAIK, unless the Jellybean update has added new features. (You did update to JB right)

Nope. We are talking about a Verizon phone, remember. Most recent update, in March, was 4.1.2. The only way I can get 4.2 before Verizon deigns to provide it, which will be who knows when, is to install a custom ROM, which I don't want to do. I did do that so I could install Android on my HP Touchpad, and it has been OK, although I haven't worked my way up to 4.2 yet. But I really really don't want to open that can of worms on my phone.

I live for the day when my contract is up. Although I don't know what I'll do then.

Anyway, thanks for your advice. I'll try to remember to try the Keep widget on my lock screen again if Jelly Bean ever arrives...

Yeah i think youll get that feature in Samsungs 4.2.2 update mate. Have you tried a 3rd party locker like Widget Locker?
