Google Keyboard is out on Play store

Woo youre right man thanks. It has 0+ downloads so far lol. Im gona try it tomorrow

+1 to google for doing this btw. Its like a new step forward that began at i/o. Making new developments available to everyone no matter how outdated their device/os is :)

It's not going to replace SwiftKey in landscape mode. I like having a split keyboard because I have a large phone. I'm trialling it in portrait mode for now. I was using Swype in portrait before. I decided to give the Google keyboard a try for a week to see if I like it more than Swype.

Pretty cool. I like how the English German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Russian dictionaries come with the download. That kind of explains the rather large size of this app. Definitely a keeper. Thanks Icneed.

I dislike this actually. For 99% of users the bundled languages are just a waste of space. I use Smart Keyboard Pro (one of the few apps I've paid for) and it has separate dictionaries for various languages that you download/install once and you're done never to think about it again. If I constantly had to download multiple languages and uninstall them I would see how this is a good thing but I don't think anyone really has that issue.

Not a bad step. I'm with Ostrich- these dictionaries should be separate downloads, especially for smaller memory devices.

Good for Google. I'm hooked on Swiftkey, have it on tablet and phone, but I wish this had been available for my old Acer a500. Though if it had, I may never have tried SwiftKey.
