Google Location Question

I've read that turning off the Location Reporting in Google maps will help battery life which makes some sense but what effect does it have on other apps and the functionality of using apps like maps to do turn by turn navigation? Does the benefit of battery life result in less accurate navigation or slower navigation connection?

Battery saving varies from user to user. For some, the Google Ecosystem is a little screwy causing battery drains while for others it's fine and the drain is not noticeable.

As long as basic GPS is enabled, anything that needs it will still function. If anything relies on it specifically, you may get a nag about it improving usage. Being one of the ones where battery drain is negligible, I leave everything GPS/Location on, and usually get GPS locks in under 5 seconds, if not instantly.
