Help Google map GPS

I'm starting to have issues with the phone taking FOREVER to get signal and for the voice to kick in and work.The old stock navigation was much better. Google took them over.I use this phone for business any suggestions???I mean my old single core processor phones where faster????But i feel it's not really the phone?Anyone else having these issues?

Perhaps try an alternate map/navigation app? Waze, perhaps?

After the card style ui update to google maps I was having the same problems with navigation but the latest update fixed everything for me.
