Will Google Maps use gyroscope for new 3D features?

Check out whole video but specifically 18sec-33sec, is this using compass, G-Sensor, GPS or also Nexus S' gyroscope:

Anyone here try Google Maps 5 on NS yet?

It works, but since I don't live near a major city with big buildings and such, I couldn't use the gyroscope feature well like they did in the demo. I was able to zoom around the empire state building though.

I have version 5.2 but don't see any buildings. Anything I need to do to get to see them? I'm an Android nubee. Just picked up the Nexus S this week.

Using two fingers, drag downward over the screen to change the viewing angle of the camera. That enables the 3D mode, but not all areas have 3D structures. It's usually just large cities and metropolitan areas.

Got it, thanks. I see them is the big cities. Took a while for them to load for some reason.
