Help Google Maps and GPS problem - xperia x8

I have a problem with my maps on my xperia x8. When I am connected to WiFi and GPS at the same time they work great. But when I disconnect from the wifi the GPS keeps working great, but the Maps just disappear. The GPS still blinks and works on every meter, but the backgroud is filled with cubes and nothing else. I tried everything, but I can't get them to work. And yes, when I try this I'am outside in an open place. Full battery. And the longest I've waited was about 30 minutes, and still I got nothing. Somebody's suggestion for my problem ?

i think you didn't keep the cache files for the maps.. update your Maps, then you will have the option to cache the map data, meaning that you dont need an internet connection to view the map.. (yes, it needs internet to view the maps)

I am not deleting the cache.. I have friend that has 2.3 android system, and his maps are automatically cached. I searched into the options of Maps, but there is no option that asks to cache the maps.. How to enable to cache the maps ?

im using Maps version 6.0.0.. if you cant update it via Market, then download it from any file sharing sites..
stock Maps is old, it doesn't have caching option yet, so update or download a new one, the caching option will be available..

I have Xperia x8, with android 2.1 as I said. My phone doesn't support Maps 6.0.0.. So another solution ?
