Root google maps battery assasin?

anyone getting around 50% use from google maps???? even with no gps and no location and no use

ok maps wasnt under battery use
i open it and right away its 10% wth???? come on guys it takes 5 secs to check this. do you or do you not have this problem and are u on stock or on blitzkrieg??

Blitzkreig and same problem. But maps has been known to be a battery hog on any phone I've had.

can we cut down permissions for maps? maybe one of the permissions will get this to stop

I would say go for it lol. Try different ones and post updates. Worst come to worse. You can always reinstall it!

wait how do i modify permissions i knew how but forgot?

ok try this. does it do it when theres no trip cached? it seems it only kills the battery when theres a trip cached. not sure yet

for some reason wiping data for maps dalvik cash and all that good stuff then nandroid and factory reset then restore fixed it and its not hogging data anymore. significant use when i plan a trip but not in the background. wierd

The PDroid app might work for permission management if someone knows how to create a patch for this phone.
