Help Google Maps Crashing

[mldewey]

Anyone having problems with Google Maps crashing. My SkyRocket has been rock solid since I bought it about a month ago, but on Saturday (May 19), Google Maps started locking up and crashing when I was attempting to use it with Google Navigation. I would select a map out of My Maps select the destination and then Google Maps would sit there for a minute or so and then give me the App not responding - Wait or Close dialog box. I have cleared all data and cache associated with Google Maps but it is still acting up. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mike

I've had my Skyrocket for 5 days. I was using Maps yesterday when I accidentally hit the "power on/off" button. The phone started making this loud, ear-splitting tone that was awful. I finally hit the power button again and it silenced the noise but the phone shut itself off. Since I was driving, I figured out where I needed to go without it. But the damned thing won't turn back on AT ALL. I have no phone!!!! I have tried all of the usual things: battery out, both cards secured, battery charged and will work in hubby's phone, his phone battery will not turn the Skyrocket on, etc.

Please, somebody, HELP ME !

2 mldewey looks like some software problems. Try factory restore.

2 gnpmom did you use after market charger? i once bought cheap charger for my droid it worked fine for a couple of days but then it started going crazy. I learned that using cheap chargers could mess up and destroy internal components of the phone eventually...

Hello all, I'm having a similar problem here, where maps simply will not open. When I try opening the map, it gives me a blank white screen, then a blank black screen, then goes back to home, with a pop-up notice that says "Unfortunately, Maps has stopped." This started only a couple days ago, after an attempt to find an address on my phone resulted in the app crashing. Please help? Thank you!
