Help Google Maps is getting too fat

Perhaps there's such thing out there as Google Maps Lite that somebody has made..!??!

How are you all handling Google Maps? Opening it takes so long now - most of the time it freezes and sometimes even restarts the phone. I feel like it's gotten extremely bloated lately.

Is anybody else having this issue? Any alternatives??

Try clearing the data and cache for the Maps app. I use it quite a bit and never have a problem.

Nah, I disagree. While clearing the cache will help, it's still become a bloated app. Too much BS integration with ancillary systems that I'll never use. I wish the options could be unselected. It definitely doesn't run as cleanly as it did many versions ago. Nonetheless, it's still my favorite app on the phone.
