Google Maps is off by a block or two

Every where I go with the navigation on my droid it is off by a block. The street view is real obvious of that. Anyone else have that problem?

probably turn on gps instead of using wireless

how far in you have it zoomed in? I know when I have mine zoomed in a lot the lil arrow lags.

try turning off the phone and turn it back on. if that dont help. uninstall google map and do freash install.

I never had that issue...I havnt used the new nav program. I was using directions by maps. This was before navigation was on the phone menu.

I have that issue in downtown Chicago (and downtown NYC on vacation last year) all the time... I always assumed it was the buildings interfering with the signal.

My google maps can pinpoint me down to what part of the house I'm sitting in. When I use the nav its within a few feet of my location. It may be your phone

Using the GPS receiver, the DROID should be within 10 feet of accuracy. Using 3G or wireless (with the GPS receiver turned OFF) will be way more inaccurate ... as much as a couple of miles in rural areas, a couple of blocks in town.

Even the garmin sirf III (or whatever) units I've used have had some issues with being accurate when surrounded by tall buildings. If it's supposed to be accurate to 10 feet then I've never had a correctly functioning gps unit. And certainly all three of the Droids I've used have had this issue. They work fine in the suburbs and most of the city, but if I'm in "the loop" in downtown Chicago, it'll lock on a street or two away from where I actually am more often than not...

i am talking mostly about the street view. I can move up the road a block and find the place I am supposed to be at.

GPS will never be accurate in skyscraper caverns, where the GPS signals are bouncing off buildings left and right.

I was trying to find a hotel in Philly and the Garmin had me driving all over the place, because it could never get a true fix of where I really was. Finally my wife said, "Is this it?" I was right in front of the hotel, and the GPS was telling me to turn left in 2 blocks.

When I first open my maps, it shows me at a different location but after a few seconds it shows me at the right location. But when my GF uses locale it shows me at that wrong position. It does the same thing with her

Mine is off by about half a mile. Sometimes it will update itself, sometimes I can make it do it, sometimes it just wants to be half a mile off no matter what.
