ive heard some reports that google navigation and running LTE at same time runs battery really quick even with a car charger connected. Is that true and has anybody successfully been using this without losing all battery power?
Note: MANY USB car chargers are not built properly and only charge at .5 amps NOT 1 amp.
I'd check first the the charger is rated at 1 amp, second that the phone "sees" it as a charger and NOT a usb device. USB standard only supports .5 amps so even if the charger can put out 1 amp the phone will only charge at .5 amps.
Navigation is a tad taxing on the battery by nature and if you are in a car you should just plug it in. Why not?
Your not going to get too far on any phone navigation without a power source.
A while back the Sprint HTC EVO 4G released with a system that would not let the battery keep up while plugged in. They should have fixed that in the following release.
If you need to navigate without a power source get extra batteries and or a hand held Garmin.
Yeah just make sure your car charger has 1 amp and not .5, and it'll be fine. I use Nav and Google Music over 4G and with a 1 amp charger it at least holds the charge, and usually even gains some.
