Help google maps navigation

Just wanted to ask if anyone else dislikes the new(er) navigation. Now rather than guiding you from behind it gives a bird's eye view that makes it harder to tell which direction you need to go. Is there some setting to change this or something? I can't understand why there wouldn't be a lot of upset people over this if there is no way to change it.

Edit: Thought I put this in the regular subforum and not all things root. My mistake. Can anyone move this?

Works for me I can't find any settings to change it. It does go to birds eye view when it loses its signal.

Does yours give a view from behind when you are on the road? For me, even when I press the navigation button on the bottom left, The birds eye view stays. It makes it really difficult to follow directions at times.
