Yes, you're correct...but you'll have to wait until the first quarter of 2010 for the Android 2.0+ update.

Edit: I thought waxing meant the new Maps update...

Nope...this only upgrades the phone's software to 1.16.605.1...not the phone's firmware, which is currently 1.5.
