Root Google Market updates automatically

Hello Everyone,

I am on Redux 1.2, and using the old version of market. From yesterday the market started update automatically and when i tried to open the new market it force close. Uninstalled the market updater, then i was able to use the old one, but again after sometime the new update comes in...

Any ideas/suggestions friends?

It does for me aswell on Redux. I have removed updater, but it still updates. I just keep reverting to the old market i nave with Ti backup.

I'm also on Redux 1.2 and had the same problem. I found the only way to stop it was to use the full version of Titanium Backup to freeze the Market Updater. I'll defrost it when Google release a stable version of the market!

I'm running Redux 1.2. I installed a terminal emulator & run theses two commands;

su
pm disable com.android.vending.updater

(which I also posted in this thread). I then Uninstalled Updates from Manage Applications and its been green ever since

Hmm - have just tried freezing the updater in Ti and then uninstalled the market update, but old market now just keeps FC'ing.

Just tried cache/dalvik wipe and ROM reflash but no joy.

Is there a way i can just install the market app using Root Explorer or ADB, or am i just going to have to bite the bullet and do full wipe and flash? Unfortunately just flashed updated Oxygen 2.2.2 last week and hadn't taken a nandroid before trying the above - bloody typical, first time I've though I'll sort a nandroid later

Try clearing data on market.

Shauny - yep tried clearing cache and data (data greyed out though) no joy, cheers anyway. Full wipe and re-flash - and nandroid this time! (nts don't put it off till later) - job done.
