Help Google messenger only receives MMS when it is NOT the default

Just as the title says. While Google messenger is set as default it does not download any MMS. As soon as I go back to textra or hangouts as default, messenger starts receiving them.

I don't mind textra but the google messenger app sure is good looking.

What does your settings say in the MMS section? Also did you try the uninstall-reinstall method?

Use mms is checked and auto retrieve is checked. And yes it has been reinstalled.
