Google more hack-proof than Apple

Personally, I agree with your statement about Google's software being harder to break compare to Apples. However, the article is a little misleading because nobody in the contest even tried to hack Chrome or Android. So it didn't really survive. The teams that were suppose to target Chrome and Android withdrew from the competition due to various reasons.

Again, highlights the differences between Google's and Apple's philosophy. I would still believe it would be harder to hack into Chrome and Android, although as its been proven, its not impossible.

Google likes to believe there is an algorithm for everything and they don't believe in human intervention and such. That's why the Android Market does not have human policing but instead tries to relay as much on built in protection mechanisms within Android. Its also the reason why Google left China, since censorship requires human policing and cannot be decided by algorithm. Even if the Android Market will get some kind of "police" chances are this policing is done by algorithm bots rather than blood and flesh humans.

Looks like Apple just got owned. On a more serious note, all platforms have their vulnerabilities. It's those Apple fanboys who really get annoying, believing their platform is unhackable.
