Help Google Navigation Force Closing

google navigation keeps force closing whenever i enter an address.

it will open and let me enter a destination but as soon as i tell it to go, i get this error ---> "the application maps (processcom.google.android.apps.maps) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again." then i get it again before it brings me to the evo home screen.

i uninstalled/reinstalled the maps update but that didn't fix it.

sprint nav works but i hate sprint nav.

wtf? any advice?

Is that the only time it happens? Is your phone rooted or stock?

this happens to me when i got the TTS frozen in titanium backup. defrost it and it worked.

Right, I'm thinking it could be something like that. If the OP doesn't have root, though, that's obviously not the case .

no i'm not rooted. funny that you mentioned tts because i just re-installed google translate and tts and now it works again.

i originally un-installed them because they were making the gps voice sound like a demon that kept repeating some web url or something - http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-sup...tion-app-repeating-web-url-satanic-voice.html

i don't know what the hell is going on with my phone, but i'm getting irritated with it pretty quick.

Oh yeah, I remember that one now. Is it still doing that weird voice, or does it work now?

no, that voice is gone. seems to be working ok... for now.

it used to take about 5+ sometimes 10 minutes every time for the gps to find the satellites too, now it takes less than a minute. hopefully my phone was exorcised of it's demons.

In my experience, whenever one app I've used regularly with no problems suddenly starts crashing, it's most often caused by another app I installed recently that's interfering with it somehow. I find this is usually the cause about 7 out of 10 times.

About 2 out of 10 times the app itself just needs to be re-installed, and the other 1 out of 10 times it's a complete mystery.
