Help google navigator

Have been using the google nav app and found recently that when it loses the GPS signal it will reboot the phone. Phone is rooted.
Also the nav says it will use bluetooth for voice nav instructions, but will only work when I'm in a call which connects to BT. Annoying to say the least. The person on the phone gets to hear the instructions too.

Is there a way to instruct the phone to use BT for instructions when not on a call?
My BT in my 2012 car shows phone and music icons on the display.

Mine plays the audio via Bluetooth in the streaming profile/mode in my car.the hands free phone profile is a separate mode. I switch by using the source button to select Bluetooth and the phone button to switch to calls on my decks. One is stock Ford sync the other is an eclipse unit. About the rebooting. Do you have any other sources enabled that it may be trying to default to (maybe code related)? I usually have network location services enabled also and do not have that issue. Though I am not rooted.

Good luck,
John

My bad! I figured out why it did not play in the car. Apparently the BT audio is considered an input. Once I pressed the mode button and switched to BT audio, it played the instructions through the speakers.
Too bad it does not mute the music and speak the instructions and then go back to music. Dead air is not fun to listen to between instructions.
Not sure about the reboot though. It happened again the other day using nav. Lost GPS then rebooted. Might be due to Google Nav being still in beta?
It also does not show speed or altitude.

Actualy mine (before the GB update... havn't had to use it for this since) did play music and it would pause the music and say the navi instructions and resume, I would have rather it just muted it so i didnt lose the beat but it did do what you want it too... at the time I was using double twist player, I have since returned to the stock player. Still no reboot due to loss of GPS though so i dont know what to tell you, I'm headed out on a long trip tomorrow though so I'll set mine up and let it roll all day and get back to you on this.

I use Navigation to get clients to points of interest in Phoenix and my phone will reboot randomly while driving. I really do like the interface and really do not want to use VZ Navigator.
Any ideas?
