Root Google now update?

I already flashed Google now to my phone but when I open it , it shows that there is an updated version with some new features. Can I flash the new updated version of Google now?

If it is not official for your phone google now will say there is an update but when you go to the play store to update it will say something like not compatible with your device. You have to wait till some one updates the hacked version for your phone.

@Outofphase thanks buddy. That's what I figured, I just wasn't sure if anyone had made an updated version for my phone. Hopefully someone will be able to figure it out.

u can chage properties in the build.prop, then try to update the app. when successful you will have to repair the build.prop back to its original form (or else live with the fact that your phone will screech at you from time to time ll)

root explorer is what i use. You would have to edit

ro.product.model=ZTE N9120
ro.product.brand=ZTE

and you would replace those with a model thats compatiable

You could try

ro.product.model=Nexus S
ro.product.brand=samsung

just remember whenever you accomplish what your trying to achieve to re-edit those lines back to the originals :)

That didn't work. I also tried to change it to look like a gs4 but that didn't work either. The playstore must look at more than just those 2 parts of the building.prop file.

ill check into it, i know i used those same commands to download modern combat 3 and 4 to my phone (which is not compatiable with our phone) have u tried to see if the update is available thru other sites besides play store? cause i do know that i wasnt able to download modern combat thru the play store, but through another site and because i changed those values i was able to install with no problems. but ill keep a eye out for ya

ok try this,

ro.product.model=Nexus S

And
ro.product.manufacturer=samsung

save the build.prop

now go to settings then apps. go to Google Play Store. Click Force stop then Clear Cache (scroll down under clear data/ move to sdcard) if after clearing cache clear data is still clickable then please click that aswell. then reboot phone and see if you can do it then

the updated version will have to be hacked for our device before it can be used. so until then it looks like it will be a stand still

Do you think that you could change the build.prop file from "ro.build.version.sdk 15" to "ro.build.version.sdk.17" and then upgrade? Would this work?
