Help Google+ opens at random

I use the Galaxy Note 3 and am running Android 4.4.4.
In the last few days Google+ has been opening at random, usually while my phone is asleep. It opens to a black screen and does not respond. Most of the time I have to pull the battery and restart the phone to bypass the issue.
Anyone have thoughts on what's going on?

Is the app updated? Did you recently download anything?

No idea mate. Have you tried reinstalling g+ (or if it's pre installed, find it in settings apps and uninstall updates then update it again?)

This is happening to me too. Sometimes I can hit either home or the open apps button to get out of it, but occasionally I have to pull the battery. Running Android 4.4.2 on LG G3. Google+ is up to date. Have tried uninstalling updates, have the same problem.
