Google Opinion Rewards app for Android

I do the surveys as well. I've been asked if I've been certain places (probably based on GPS info from my phone), thoughts on brands, whether I've seen movies... Like most surveys, they probably are contracted with a number of companies to ask questions, depending on demographics. It's been a nice way to get some Google Play credit; I've used it for books, premium apps, and app content I wouldn't want to buy with real money.

I've been getting those a lot lately. Every day or so since the start of December. Granted, I got nearly $10 in credit from them, so I'm not complaining.:p

BTW, I merged in a similar discussion into the main Google Rewards thread in the Applications forum.:)

Have had the app since November of 13. Happy to answer the surveys.

I have over $19.00 in rewards, and suspect I am now losing money due to it expiring. My problem is that there are not that many apps I want to spend money on. I probably need to venture into the wider PlayStore and see if I can spend my credits there.

I downloaded this last month and have been getting a series of odd surveys. Mainly when was the last time I went somewhere and how did I get there. It's pretty clear they're researching for something, but I'm not sure what. Anyone have any ideas, or getting these surveys too?

I get these frequently as well - and I find that it's usually shortly after visiting the place in question (or else a nearby business). I assume they're using it to improve their location and/or maps algorithms, a sort of calibration process perhaps.

...usually shortly after visiting the place in question (or else a nearby business)...

I was going to mention this but didn't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist.:p

It also asks if I've visited the competition, so if I go to a CVS, it asks when the last time I went to a Rite Aid or Walgreens and how I got there.

I noticed that too, but often the CVS is right across the street from the Walgreen's I went into, or the Home Depot just across from the Lowe's. *shrug*

Here is an interesting ditty about Google Rewards Surveys. I started getting surveys in the following format:

When was the last time you were <here>?
What mode of transportation did you use to get there?

I didn't think much of it to begin with and then I noticed a day or two after going to a local store I was asked about that store. A few days later I was asked about another store that I had recently been too. Oddly enough, I don't frequent the place very often. I was telling my 16 yo about it (he was ticked that he didn't get as many surveys as I did) and at the time we were going into a little local restaurant. While sitting at the restaurant, I got a survey about the last time I was at Subway. Guess what is next door to the restaurant we were in? Nothing other than Subway. I guess location services do do something? I haven't turned mine off because I want to see how this plays out. I am trying to keep up with where I have been and what has been nearby when I get new surveys.

I just got an 11 question survey with no cash out. 11 Questions and not even .25 cents? I was really surprised by that.
I had the same survey...
I've had a few with no cash as well. I've always been told at the start of the survey though.
...and like El P I am always told when it won't pay ahead of time. On the plus side more often than not I get a 1-2 question survey for $0.25 or I'll get a flurry of paying surveys after a freebie.
