Help Google password to lock phone?

When I bought the incredible, the Verizon sales rep told me I could use my gmail password to lock/unlock the phone. I haven't been able to find this option anywhere, though. Is it possible to do that?

When you put in the wrong lock pattern enough times, it asks for your Google information. I don't think there's a way to just use that.
