Are any of you having problems with the Google places app?

An update was available on the market. Once i updated, it sends me into a perpetual cycle of "places wants permission to access you Google maps login credentials - allow or deny."

It won't get out of it and starts up with that screen every time. It's a real bummer because it's a super handy application.

I'm having the same problem with the app.

I thought it was something wrong on my end but I am having this issue also. If I do manage to access the app the location is wrong.

I think this is because the new updated version of google maps (launched today) now includes "places" as part of it. So, I uninstalled places and the google maps update. Then reinstalled the maps update only, rebooted phone. Places has a new red icon and has a yelp-like interface. Works great.
