Google Play Developer & Google Checkout Merchant account

I'm about to create a Google play developer account and then a Google Checkout Merchant account so that I can sell paid apps. But since I'm new to this I wanted to know what maybe to expect from selling apps on Google play, like any headaches or anything I might have to deal with? Or is it the process pretty smooth and easy to work with?

Well, you probably already know about the 30% fee on every app you sell.
What you might not know is that you will not get your payout till it's at least 100$.
At least it was a surprise to me.
