Help google play icon gone from desktop

My Android Market icon is now gone from my launcher and I'm not exactly sure how to get Google Play loaded on the device. Advice?

Google Play replaces the Market, when you started up market, it began the switch, it is there, it should be in your app drawer

Also, don't search for it under Google in your app drawer it is listed under Play.

I have to say I like "Android Market" much better than "Google Play". This one can be chalked up there with New Coke and Crystal Pepsi.

Play installed on mine but it didn't show up anywhere until I rebooted.

My Market icon still shows as the little white shopping bag with the green android and the caption is "Market". All my other apps (Books, Videos, Music) have changed to their respective Play variant.

This is so both on my XOOM and my Galaxy Nexus. Is it supposed to update to Play?

Mine still says market too even though I was asked if I wanted to except play.

New google play icon is again replaced with market icon. Unfortunately google play icon is still there in app drawer without any function attached to it

I finally have the play icon.

Hmm, very odd.
I still have the market app icon, but I do have Play Book and Play Music.

You have to remove the market app from any of your screens and re-add it for the icon to come into effect.

^That did not work for me.^

I have the Market app version 3.4.4 and it is still working good for me.

Update: My XOOM now shows the "Play Store" icon instead of the "Market". My Nexus still shows the Market.

I received an text this morning that my phone will be upgraded to Google Play within the next few days.

Well, 12 hours later and it finally updated to Google Play.
