Help Google Play Services deleted

Hi,

I've just got a new Lenova Yoga 2 tablet. It's done a few OS updates to finally get to Android 5.0.1.
When I start Google Chrome no keyboard is displayed to allow me to type anything in. If I go into the Settings and look at Language & Input, it tells me that "com.android.settings" has stopped. Trying to run up Play Store does nothing. If I try to run GMail, it tells me that I need to enable Google Play services. I select the Enable Google Play Services and then it just crashes. Obviously not having a keyboard stops me getting onto the internet to download a version of it. I don't know what version I need that is compatible with this Android version.
I know it is possible to connect my PC to the tablet and transfer data between the two.
I've been hunting the web all day for a solution and everything points to me needing Google Play Services, but I don't know what version and how to install it back onto the tablet.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks,
Newbie.

Do you have a file manager installed on your device?

You can download Play Services from the above url, connect your tab to your PC, copy the downloaded apk over, disconnect and install via the file manager. If not, it will take a little bit more work, but it is possible to install stuff via your PC (as long as USB Debugging is enabled).

Have you tried a factory reset on the device after the updates? I usually do that on a brand new device after it installs all of it's updates. Can't hurt anything, especially if you don't have any data to lose yet.

Have a look under settings>backup & reset>factory data reset.

If you can't access this due to system errors, there is probably another way via the device's recovery. We can look there next if needed.

There is some sort of File Browser on the tablet. How do I know which version I need to download from that URL ?

I did try that Factory Data Reset and it appear to have made no difference at all. Should I expect to see the Google Play Service in the Apps list somewhere ? If it's been uninstalled, does it still reside somewhere on the tablet or is it deleted ?

Enable download manager ,disable Android device manager ( can be enabled later) enable WiFi, go to settings>storage>apps>Google play services ,tap on uninstall update, finished this open chrome type www.apkmirror.com/apk/ Google-inc/Google-play-services/ hit select latest version tap on this next page tap on Google play store icon and update play services. Then go to settings and clear cache ,reboot device.

Unfortunately Google Play Services isn't listed in the Apps. I also then have the added problem that I don't have a keyboard to be able to enter that URL on the tablet. I think the only way I can get items on there at the moment is to connect it to my PC and then transfer it across.

This happened to me once on an android device. Are you able to search for Google play in the main page of the home screen? I had to backup my phone and restore it to get it back.

If a Bluetooth Keyboard would pair with your tablet it might help working through getting the apk loaded.

Try in reinstalling or replacing the existing google play services with this one..then reboot your phone..let me know how that works out for ya...
