Google Play Update App Issues

I'm a noob...unsure where to post or turn to for help....advice greatly appreciated...here's my issue:

Note2 and HTC One suddenly cannot update applications from google play store via (wifi and/or 3G) from my house. When I'm at work I have 4G (sprint) and I can quickly update apps. I've searched the forums here (no avail)...and also did what this google link below instructed (cleared cache/data and restarted and updated google play and google wallet...all UTD). I've tested wifi connection...it is working great....I've tried shutting off mobile network (to be sure wifi only) and vice versa (shut off wifi to go just 3G).

Both devices worked great up until a couple weeks ago. Only thing different is I installed a Sprint Airave 2.5 because of terrible Sprint coverage (but can't imagine that's the problem). I'm grasping for anything.

I'm still struggling ...but more info for someone to help me:

today I also realized I'm getting a very similar error to this post (youtube cannot connect to server error). This says the person had a firewall issue on the phone. I haven't knowingly added a firewall setting. Also I can update apps via Amazon APPSTORE. here's the link:

I think youve done all the right things so far man. Can you check you havent accidentaly disabled a system app in App Manager?
