Help Google Play!!

So i have downloaded the updates from the Android Market, which switched to Google Play, which then one day turned to "android play store". When i click on it, nothing happens. I went into manage applications and google play, android store, or anything near it isn't showing up whatsoever. The only things are like 'market updater' which doesn't allow me to do anything. I deleted the app off of my home screen hoping it would somehow do something and now there is no way to get into the marketplace from my phone. Someone please help! I saw something about .apk files but i do not know the nature of how they work or what they do. Please help!

Welcome to the forums!!! :)

Ok it sounds like something got corrupted there. We'll get you fixed up.
First are you rooted?
I would assume not, so we need to get the .apk. Question is how?

When you go into menu / settings / applications / manage applications there aren't any apps associated with the market, or Google play, nothing? If you find something listed try and open the app, then select clear cache. See if that helps.

Also try and go to the market on your pc and see if you can download the app to your pc. I can't remember if you can or not. If so place it on your SD card, insert into the phone. Open up a file manager app like astro or estrongs. Find the file select it and install.

Thanks! So all i have in my manage applications is "Market Updater" and "Market Feedback Agent" and when i go into both of them all options are greyed out so i cannot clear the caches. I did download some of the .apk files on my computer and i placed it onto my phone but i don't have any file managers on my phone like astro on my phone so i don't know what to do once the file is on my sd card.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like he's in a catch 22...needs market to get astro but needs astro from market to download market from pc?...
Can he use the internet on phone to somehow download market automatically?

Good thinking Mike! :)

Worth a try, try to open the play store from your web browser, and try to download astro or ES file manager. See if you can install the .apk that way.
