Hi all

I wanted to set up a poll, but not sure if I have the admin priveliges. My question would be:

For those that have the google plus app on their handsets, please indicate which best describes you -

I am on stock rom and DO get updates from this app without opening

Personally, I've never been able to get notifications on either stock or custom.
 
running Villain 1.4 and I DO get Google + notifications without a problem. Infact I'd go as far to say this app is the smoothest bit of software on my phone. If only the facebook app was half as good but to be fair this is a google bit of software on a google OS. Go figure. Apparently the G+ Iphone app is laggy as hell.
 
Can I ask what your settings look like?

I am unchecked on both columns on the desktop app (email and phone notifications).
App notifications are also enabled on the handset.

I just don't know what else there is.

******edit, I just checked all boxes in the mobile column on the desktop app - no change.
 
I get updates fine on desktop app. However, I only get notifications on g+ if I actually go into the app. If it's closed, I get nothing on the handset.

Can you link me up with your g+ so I can test?
 
Well, I don't know you did it ;)

It seems unchecking sync on the app, then re-checking solved the problem.

Hold the front page.
 
Im on custom rom and my notifications are temperamental, sometimes I get them sometimes I have to open the app.
On another note the instant upload feature does not work for me.
 
i get notifications on my notification bar, but its not pushed.. and i seem to get them super late, and i almost always open the app n see it before it notifies me automatically.

the instant upload feature isnt dangerous in my opinion. its uploaded to a private picasaweb album.. and no one can see it until u share them. and u can always delete the ones u wouldnt want to have online. the only annoying part of it is.. it uploads almost immediately as i take a pic. so if i take 3 pics and just want to keep one.. its already uploaded all 3!
 
well yeah, it depends on the user.. if u feel ur photos are very personal, i guess u wouldnt use it. me, i just take pics of random crap :p lol. i wouldnt worry about them at all. so its a nice feature for some. i wish it would sync like.. every hour or something.. to give me time to delete the pics gone wrong, and only upload the pics i save
 
i did a small test and noticed the first msg we weren't notified. after opening and clicking on it....close it down, every msg after that came through as a notification. so yes they do come through, but only after acknowledging the first one. i have friend who has a google dev mate so i told her to pass it on to him...she experienced the same thing when we tested.

not rooted, KF4, auto sync always on.... all options ticked (execpt auto upload photos)
 
Mine appears to work fine. Even the auto upload of new pictures/videos. I did set mine to only upload on WiFi so I don't end up recording an HD video for 5 minutes and trying to upload that on my H+ connection, even though it would be faster than my home WiFi/DSL, so I don't use "too much" unlimited data. I normally don't take pictures of things I don't want to share so I'm not to worried about that. But I am a little less pleased with the feature, I thought that early on I could delete a pic from the private area of Google+ and retain it on my phone. Well this morning I went to delete a picture from Google+ via the android app and it said it would be deleted from Google+ and my phone...
