Help Google search bar effed up...

I have a joyous issue with my search bar on my main page. Anytime I click on it it launches...i can put in about 2 letters and it freezes everything. Doesn't work period after that...i have to hit home like 5 times and then go to the browser to use it.

I am rooted with 2.2

I think thats a bug with the leaked 2.2, you can try to uninstall and reinstall from the market. Does the same with mine, occasionally.
