Google Search Bar

I was wondering if there was any way to remove the google search bar at the top of the home screen on my Motorola Droid Ultra? I used to have a Galaxy S3 and it was a simple long press and trashcan move. I never use the search bar and think it has always been an eyesore.

The only way to remove it is to use a different launcher.
