Any reason that I keep getting a google sign-in authentication error and have to keep signing in with a goofy password? This is happening 1/2 dozen times per day lately.

So are you able to sign in? My account was comprimized when that dude from china hacked the google severs.

Yeah I can sign in. Just have to keep entering that stupid "not even a word" password a few times a day.

Is this on the phone? Have you tried changing passwords on your Google account on a PC browser and then (when prompted after a failed sync) change it on the phone and see what happens?

When I changed my Google password on the computer, I ended up having to reflash my phone. There was no way for me to delete or reset my main account. Extremely aggravating.

For a rooted phone, you just need to:

- remove /data/system/accounts.db
- reboot (or, do the above using the recovery boot & adb)
- tap on the Market App - it will request that you set up your credentials.

See this XDA post for more details:

Obviously, this won't help you (at this time), but it might be useful for the OP. (As always, make a Nandroid backup - preferably using CWM - before you begin).
