Help Google Sky Map "Night Mode" - Lit Buttons?

When using Google Sky Map, I like to put it into Night Mode so it doesn't affect my night vision as much. Except that the Home, Menu, Back, and Search buttons seem to stay brightly lit.

Aside from covering these with my hand while using the app, does anyone know if there is a way to disable this??

Thanks for the tip ... but I'm not rooted.

Though I likely will be, once unrEVOked's utility is back up... hopefully soon!
