Google talk automatically starting itself

Is there a way to stop my phone from automatically starting Google Talk? I have gone to settings and stopped it on my running services. I go back and check 10 min later and it is running again. I have disabled my background data and it still seems to start its self. I have signed out of google talk and still comes on. This is using my data even when at home where I have wifi. I've also noticed data charges at 3:30 in the morning. (I don't sleep browse so I can only assume it is the google talk.)

Please help

Figured out how to keep my wifi from changing to 3G when at home, but still wondering how to stop google talk.

I even went to att store and sales rep didn't realize this was happing to his phone too. Anyone else having this problem?

Talk is used by other android processes and cant be fully stopped without having some problems with other services which is why the OS wont fully stop it. Tell it not to connect automatically in options in talk itself and it wont be using any resources. In other words its not hurting anything and this is normal.

I did have it set up to not log in automatically and it still loads. It wouldn't be an issue, but when I am away from a Wifi connection it uses by data. I've used more data in less than 2 weeks than I have in 2 months. If it is a program that I cannot control, I don't want to be charged for it's data usage.
Anyone have any other suggestions???

If you checked sign out and do not sign in automatically then I would recommend also going into applications/all applications and select clear data. Then restart the device. You should see this loaded up even when it is not actually itself running. It always loads regardless of being used but should not use data unless you are signed in and using it. How did you determine that it is talk that is using the data? Its supposed to be loaded as other applications are dependent on its service but should not be using data and most definitely not using data in an amount that you would notice.
