Help Google Talk problem

I'm having a problem i'm wondering if anyone else has seen and may have a fix for...I'm using the ray on AT&T and the google services seem to CONSTANTLY connect and disconnect. The best example is Google Talk. It connects and disconnects every few seconds for the most part. Sometimes when I launch the app it stays connects for a little while then as soon as I send a messages it cuts me off. Gmail also seems to receive messages a little slower than any other android phone i've used. I'll get a gmail notification in about 30 seconds vs. maybe 5 seconds like all my other phones have. My Atrix indicated in the status bar when i was connected or not connected to google services. It would go off and on sometimes as well but nothing like this one seems to be.

This is only happening on cellular (2G and 3G). All of this stuff works perfectly over wifi. Other data like web browsing, twitter, etc seems to work quite well on cellular. I'm on 2.3.4 and have already done a restore to try and fix this. I have also tried a new sim card. This is a very consistent problem in every location i have tested this where all my other devices work fine and don't have this problem.

Thanks for any tips!

One thing to check would be what access point name is being used, it may be a WAP access point instead of Internet.

Main Menu > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > From here you are best to confirm with your network provider to ensure the correct settings are listed here.

Adrian,

I am on AT&T too. Not having any of the issues you describe. What did you use for the data APN settings? My Ray would not download them. My wife's Neo (also AT&T) did, so I used hers. I have them posted HERE at the bottom of the thread.
