Google talk remove?

Noticed that I have google talk service running on my eris with erislightningbolt rom on it. Seeing as I don't use google talk is this safe to remove or does it have too many tie ins with any other apps? Also for that matter can I remove the email app as well since I only use gmail? If I need to check my hotmail I can simply go to the website.

You could try it if you want. Just make sure to do a NAND backup first, so you don't have to start COMPLETELY over on the ROM if it turns out to be a bad idea.

Well did try it...ended up causing my gmail to fudge up so apparently google talk and gmail kinda go side in side. Bummer, didn't do a backup anyways as I was going to try a different rom as well...keep tossing between a froyo and sticking with 2.1...the camera and flash not working is a killer for me. Once they fix those things though should be golden.
