Google Talk - update?

just wondering if anyone knows if there is an update to the the version of google talk that cam on the captivate? it seems like the version for blackberry is more up to date - being able to include smileys and actually have them look like smileys instead of characters.

i can't even seem to find google talk in the app store to check versions!?

you can press menu > more then insert smiley and it shows the available smileys as pictures

yes, i see/saw that - but they are limited as opposed to what blackberry users had access to. i was thinking maybe there was an update but i cant even find a note on what version we are running or where to download the program or check version(s)
