Root Google voice and Skype

[Peter123]

Interesting:

I am running XtrSense4.06.01.
I tried to install Skype for Android. The Skype site lists Eris as one of the supported phones. Yet when try to download the app I get a response "Sorry your handset is not supported...".

Is this an Eris or Xtr ROM thing? Anyone had this problem on stock 2.1?

Peter

I am trying Skype for cheap internationa rates. I have Google voice, but
I find it flakey: most often it just rings as if noone was home, but when I call via land-line the person picks it up just fine...

Update:
I was able to install Skype - it downloaded/installed fro the Market without any problem.

I had the same experience with Google Voice. Lots of ringing, very little answering, and plenty of billing for time ringing. Now my wife is back in the country so no more need, but it was an expensive lesson.
