Help Google Voice app

Hi There,

I downloaded the Google voice app and wanted to try it out how it works as Skype doesnt seem to work for me at all (voices can't be understood at all, nbo matter how fast the network is) but GV doesnt let me sign in, it keeps saying "Your Google account is not yet enabled for google voice. Visit google.com/voice to sign up" But I have setup my account already. I can use it from a browser and i also got some credit on there. What's going on? I my Provider blocking these voice services? I'm with Rogers wireless in Canada....
