Google Voice as default texting app

FYI, i'm on the U.S. version of the Note, on At&t, if that matters.

I can't get Google Voice to be my default texting app. When others text my GV number, it opens up in the phone's own Messaging app. If i reply back from it, it sends from At&t, not from GV. I have to actually go into the GV app and reply there.

The first time I tried to run the regular Messaging app, it asked what app i would like to use as default. Google Voice app was NOT an option. I this the problem? Does At&t block me from choosing GV as my default app?

Thanks for any help with this.

Try going to the GV app options and re-check that you don't want it to send to your message app as well. Hope that makes sense.
