For those who have not used Google voice or are new to the smart phone world ,here's a tip for you. Besides having free visual voicemail included in the application it also gives you free text. It does give you a second number but its worth it if you don't have an unlimited text plan.
However don't use it with other Verizon users or you will ruin "in" Texting since it won't be recognized as a Verizon number. I only recommend to give this number for Texting to non Verizon users.
If you have the app and didn't know about the text part. Open the app the click menu then the compose option.
Enjoy!
