Help Google Voice issues

i've just got my GV number. the calling works perfect (making and receiving calls) but im having issues with the txt messaging.

i can send them through the app installed in my phone and people will receive them, but if they reply i never get them, any ideas?

i can only receive if the other is a google voice number.

could it be that is a metro thing or something with GV?

thanks i went through the topics and still nothing i guess maybe just wait (some where it said that i needed yo wait up to 5 days of i just changed the number)
