I have a question about Google Voice. I am on Verizon. If I make calls from my Droid X to a land line using the Google Voice option, do I use my Verizon minutes. I have been told yes and no, so not sure what the correct answer is?

The GV transcriptions can be pretty funny, but GV visual voicemail has worked very well for years for me.Texting using your GV number is free, though. It also does the visual voicemail thing (albeit, very, very poorly) for free, too. So if you have a texting plan or visual voicemail, you can switch to the GV number and cancel your texting / VVM addons.
That's no good at all, would make it necessary for me to change carriers to use GV for work. It should let you choose so you can pick which number shows up on caller ID on the other end. Fortunately, GV works perfectly on T-Mobile.Yeah there definitely is some sort of partnership going on. When I was on Virgin, I installed GV and everytime I made a call, it asked whether to use my GV or Virgin number. On Sprint, I have no such option
